NOA Responds to 3DS VC Release Drought
Why has it been almost two months since North America has recieved a 3DS VC game?
Many of our North American readers may be aware that there have not been any 3DS VC releases on the eShop in almost two months. Considering that Nintendo has been trying to encourage people that they are improving their online setup, it seems odd that Japan and Europe have been getting titles but not North America.
NOA has made a statement about the state of its 3DS VC releases, which unfortunately seems to be a little bit of an avoidant answer.
“Each week Nintendo makes available a mix of Nintendo eShop, Virtual Console, WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but many more are on the way via all of these digital-delivery systems.”
Their defence seems to boil down to the argument that their online services already have lots of titles, so they don’t need to worry to much about consistent new releases.
North America’s 3DS VC drought will be ending Thursday when Kirby’s Block Ball releases.

yeah I noticed it just kinda stopped, im guessing so they could sell more copies of pushmo, colors 3d, and kid icarus they held stuff back but considering after mario tennis there isnt much from them I am guessing they will catch up then.
Most game systems seem to have a lack in games right before E3. I think it’s to build anticipation for what will be announced. I suspect at E3 Nintendo will announce a lot of VC titles coming out and a lot if updates to the eShop. So the lack of VC games now does not surprise me at all.
i think we should give them a break they are over there trying to entertain us by working their but i think we should find out what games are new in eshop by waiting

I wish they also released some Mega Drive games (I know they are trying to be handheld oriented but the NES was not a handheld and its games are on there) and GBA games.
for america they announced Sonic 1 but we will have to do with “Sonic Classic Collection” for now.

To be honest there is a very limited range of Gameboy games I’m interested in buying again. What I’d really like to see is GBA officially added to the VC line-up, with one to two titles made available for download every week.

I want the SNES and not the GBA. cause GBA was just a low res SNES with washed out color and Atari-qaulity sound.!
Ya, but there was alot of good games for GBA that weren’t on SNES.

I think its Nintendo’s responsibility to update their e-shop at least once a week. but it really should be more frequent than that, perhaps random updates. I wake up every Thursday morning to check whats new on the 3DS e-shop, and once I see all their is to see(and these last few weeks, thats not much) I dont go back to the e-shop for an entire week! if I didn’t know when new and exiting games and demos are made available then perhaps I would visit the 3DS e-shop more frequently.
I also think we should get more demos, one every week for retail games. if they want me to get mario tennis open, then let me play a demo first. thats why I got resident evil revelations and snake eater, because the demos blew me away!
I also currently have $2.12 left over from getting a few games on the e-shop but because I am charged tax on every game. even the $1.99 are too expensive. how can I spend every last dollar when they wont even let me?

There is an option now to take out from your card the difference in the balance so you don’t have to put on a certain amount you can pay the difference to 0 you out.
The eshop/virtual console for the 3ds is pathetic. Really. There should be gba games on there to start with. By now you would think Nintendo would be about a 5th into releasing the entire back catalogue of NA gba games. There’s nothing, not one game. They need to step their game up before I regret ever buying the console.
I am still waiting for pokemon R/B/Y. I really think it is about time they release something like this. I haven’t found a single interesting game to download from the 3ds shop and it has almost been open for an entire year.

I just want Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons! At this point, I don’t really care what other VC games release on the eshop, I just REALLY want those two games!!!!!!!!
It’s quite sad to see the eShop has the same crap everyday I go online. Nintendo needs to improve on their downloadable games, otherwise what’s the point on going on it(excluding demos and DLC)?
