I haven't heard of Black Bird. I'll have to look into that. Of course, I'll get into Hetalia, I didn't realize there was a manga though. Perhaps I ought to assume there is always a manga. ;) Good picks, PandaStripe.

Yes, I've heard the John Grisham name. ::adds him to the list:: I'm adding The Pelican Brief because I haven't seen the movie and that seems to be one of his more well-known works. Thanks, Zok!

I'm reading Dewey right now. It's the true story about how someone stuffed a kitten in a library book return and the library took care of it and how the cat changed so many people's lives.

I'm a bit obsessed with finding really good fantasy series. I think the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman is the best with The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter right behind that. (Though I should probably read the Lord of the Rings trilogy at some point, haha.) I'm adding Beyonders: A World Without Heroes to my list so I can get in on the Beyonders series. It has a really high rating on Goodreads, I'm not sure I've seen a 4.0 before! Thanks for sharing!
That sounds awesome! I will definitely read that. I read this book called The Good Good Pig: The Extraordinary Life of Christopher Hogwood by Sy Montgomery that you might really enjoy. It was fascinating (Montgomery's incredible career writing about the world's creatures) and heartwarming (how Christopher touched so many lives). Animal stories are the best. XD
The Percy Jackson series is another one I need to get into. And I've heard good things about Warriors...it's just such a massive series of books! I do like cats though...I'll add one to my list. Oh, I already added both to my list before. Man, I gotta get to the library. XD (The Chronicles of Narnia is so awesome, by the way.)
Would you say the Fairy Tail manga was better than the anime...? I'll probably watch the anime first if I can get it through Hulu or something legal like that. H.I.V.E. sounds AWESOME! How have I not heard of it?! The Dot.Robot series sounds pretty cool, so that's going on my list as well. Thanks, NatsuDragneel29! Oh, if you get a chance, you should check out Sideways Stories From Wayside School by Louis Sachar (the first in the Wayside School trilogy) 'cause it's awesome.

Wow, you guys read a lot of books. It's a good thing I do too! I like reading all types of books. I'm reading some of the "Dear America": "My Name Is America" like the journal of Jasper Jonathan Pierce: A Pilgrim Boy, or the
journal of Patrick Seamus Flaherty: United States Marine Corps. I also read some, now don't laugh... Nancy Drew.
I played the game when I was younger so it wasn't weird when I started reading them. I also read a Civil War book where you get to choose what happens next. I'll have to check out Dewey and H.I.V.E.

That sounds interesting, lusk. Some people on Goodreads were griping that the story is written in a broken English, but I think I might like that. I'll definitely put it on my list and give it a try. Thanks for sharing it with us!
It will be a really easy read, I promise. I'm probably going to reread it myself since it's been way too long from my last adventures from Wayside. ;)

Well I'm not quite sure what they mean by broken english, because it's definitely not 'broken.' there are some sentence fragments, but only to emphasis things. What do they mean by broken english?

I think they just meant that it wasn't written in "proper, school-taught English" BUT they're not really important reviewers if they don't understand artistic license and creative writing. I'll write my own review that puts their review to shame. TO SHAME! XD (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2015492.Empress) Besides, some of the reviewers consider the book to their new favorite and the overall score is really decent.

Yeah the rating is probably just. The world it creates is really cool and the story is pretty good, and the characters are awesome, but the problem is the characters have the same arguments a lot. If you can get past that, it's a good book, but it seems not everyone could get past that.

Currently, I am reading the book sex drugs and cocoa puffs by Chuck Klosterman. I'm actually really enjoying it, for a collection of essays about todays society and media. Another book I am reading is Breakfast with Socrates, a book about applying ancient philosophies to modern day activities like waking up in the morning. I would recommend Great Expectations, as it was one of the first classic pieces of literature that I was forced to read and actually really enjoyed. Another great classic is Brave New World by Aldous Huxely, a book about a futuristic society.

Anything by Michael Moorcock is great, even though you might have to check out a used bookstore to find anything by him. Richard Adams is also a great author, check out Watership down, a book about rabbits migrating to find a new home.

Also, even though I have not read it yet, I have heard A Clockwork Orange was really good.

I think my younger sister read Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs. She liked it too. Klosterman's a bit of a comedian and a bit of a philosopher. Speaking of philosophers, I might check out Breakfast with Socrates.

I've added Great Expectations and Brave New World (Sounds awesome! Published in 1932? Crazy!) to my list as well as Elric of Melniboné (The Elric Saga #1) in honor of your username and Watership Down, which seems really cool, I already know I'll like it. :) Thanks, Elric!
