Nintendo have released more info on the 3ds. the first is game coins There will be 1 coin given per 100 steps . Max is 10 coins per day (1000 steps) You can only have 300 stored. i think the small amount of coins available per day is rediculously small surely if the plan is to get people moving then they should make it as many coins as your legs can walk you to getting and then people will be walking more. That was were the pokewalker went wrong by only letting your pokemon level up one level for every walk no matter how much you walked. sure i have a pikachu that has been in my pokewalker for like a year. so to sum it all up they should make it you can get as many coins per day and hold as many as you need
The coins can be used in the mii channel.....interesting. I hope they will expand it a lot clothing and other stuff that would be cool.

If you want to get the maximum 10 coins a day, your arm is going to be very tired by the end. Walking would probably be easier.
I do 1000 steps round the office no problem. If I go out at lunch, I often rack up about 6000 on the Pokewalker, so its not a difficult amount to reach. Id like to have seen it a little higher, but hey, its not costing us anything, and its better than not having it.
