That is unfortunate. As unoriginal as the name "Wii Entertainment System" was, I preferred it to the name "WiiU".

I like "Wii-U" IDK why. The only good thing that would come out of the name "Wii-U" is that they would call the next SSB, "SSB Universe" :p

Any name that doesn't have the word Wii in it. Something with NES in would be awesome.

I was gonna say that! That was rumored before e3 2011 and I was hoping it would be called that.

If this name change is true then I'm alright with it, if it does change it would have to be an amazing title. I'm fine with Wii U as it's sounds simple and a bit different but I don't mind if this change at E3.

I think we should name it the "Wii NHNC" NHNC standing for "Nintendo Has No Creativity". Anyone agree? No? just me..

Maybe Wii Ultra would be better, even better the U could stand for Ultra, it could be anything but I hope it will be a title that's easy to remember and awesome.

I was Thinking Wii Revoluton, you know, sense Wii was originally codenamed Revolution-- they could bring that wone out again~ But then again, I like Wii U just fine...it's....just too familiar in my mind now.

WiiMii would be weird, and you're right Panda, Wii-U is ok.

That's the reason I think it's highly unlikely the name will change--it's too entrenched in people's minds. To change the name now, after it's already been firmly established, would confuse a lot of people. I just don't see it happening.

Well, I would say you're right... although only the people who have actually been discussing the name of the console will care.

That was the original point of this thread, right? To speculate on what the Wii U could possibly be renamed? Or am I mistaken....

No, I'm just speculating that only the people continuously discussing the name "WiiU" will find the name change awkward.
