I'm kinda upset about this.......I wish retail games would stay as retail games.....

    They will stay retail.
But the option to download is also available from retail stores, or direct from ninty. :D

I have mixed feelings about this. It is good they are giving us a choice. But one of the things about retail is the packaging. And as of late the 3DS packaging is lacking. Both Super Mario 3D Land and LOZOT had poster like manuals.

But the download is cheaper, however, I prefer an actual chip with a box.

    Stalker.
    The issues I have:

    • It's not a physical copy, therefore it's not yours. Really. If you read the fine print, you are playing a downloadable version of a game, licensed, but not actually sold to you.
    • Since the game is stored on your system, if your system gets destroyed or you can't transfer your games for some reason, say goodbye to your games.
    • Even if the downloadable software is 5-10 dollars cheaper, that doesn't mean much if you're able to turn around and sell a used game cartridge for $15.
So overall, the downloadable retail games system is more convenient, but not necessarily cheaper. The consumer will end up paying more for that convenience.

I think having a choice of either a download or a physical copy is a good idea.
Only issue that might pop up is lack or available room to store it.
(Unless you've replaced the original 3DS SD card with something with more capacity)

I see what you mean. But for me the retail version would have to nicer packaging. Don't just give us a fold out poster as the manual.

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!! I JUST PREORDERED IT AT GAMESTOP!:mad::mad:

Oh but I guess it would be a matter of time before Nintendo started doing this, I mean this had been rumored before, about being able to download full games. Still like retail a lot better if its possible. I mean there is ups and downs for both.
    Retail
    • You have a physical copy
    • Doesn't use up much memory
    • You get a case
    Download
    • You don't have to worry about taking game card in and out.
    • Convenient
    • You can't lose it(unless you lose the whole 3DS of course. :p)
Well I would wish they would wait and do the games once they have been out a year or too like Xbox did for games like Viva Pinata and Sonic 06 to put it up for download so they could give it a discount so it's only $20. But it's going to be a major pain for people without creditcards to buy 2-3 3DS $20 cards just to get it for download. Much easier for retail.

Actually, it has been confirmed that the download version will be cheaper than retail (like with the PS Vita) but also retailer can set their own price for the download versions

Agreed, I wish they could just stay with having retail games! Not everyone has internet to download them!

I will stick to the physical game... It will probably take up way to much memory on the SD card. :p
