Don't ya think it's weird that people go off topic all the time??
In my introduction thread, we all started to talk in a load of different languages for no apparent reason, and in another thread (I can't remember which one) we started to talk about metroid and Yoshi, RANDOMLY!!
    Has anyone else noticed that??
    Btw I like watermelons!! XD

i think its mostly (no offense) Ahythys (is that how u spell it?) Homer Fanboy, and Someone

    the process is:

    1. H.F. Thinks of something
    2. Someone thinks of something.
    3. They say what they think
    4. They get into a conversation
    5. Ahythys joins in
    6. And BAM!

    SPAM HAPPENS!!!!!!!

Ui. Checked in here after a stressful weekend of building, programming, driving, and destroying robots. I see spam everywhere.

This probably happens because we have no ruleset that specifically forbids going off-topic, and neither I nor Adam enforce it, either. On another forum I frequent, if a thread goes off-topic for more than a couple of posts in a row, the extra posts get deleted by a mod, who leaves a post telling everyone to return to the topic.

Maybe it's time we got some rules together for me to enforce. What do you say, everyone?

That's mostly the reason why I made the chat thread; if people get off-topic (or at least if I do), I go to that thread and post it instead of in a thread completely unrelated.

I don't think there should be any rules like that! I love the freedom!!!! I mean, I don't really mind if we go off topic! I kind of think it is fun! It is like a big happy family on this blog! ;)

It's extremely ironic that people are going off-topic on a thread that is chastising that same exact thing. . . .

Yes, but it makes it impossible for those wanting to discuss the topic at hand to do so. If you want to talk about something unrelated to the thread, just go ahead and create your own topic in the Everything Else section. Or use Someone's "chat" thread.

I'll introduce a basic ruleset that will enforce this. It's actually quite a serious issue in the long term, as off-topic threads will turn potential new members off from joining.

This is my final word on the matter, and I don't want this thread to go off-topic. So...
