Soundtrack

The soundtrack for Sonic Generations is comprised of different themes heard throughout the series' respected history.

"Menu" is a rendition of the Sonic Heroes Menu Theme.
"Invincibility" for both Modern and Classic is based off the original Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) theme.
"Green Hill Zone" is obviously based on the Green Hill Zone theme of Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)
"Drowning" based on Sonic Adventure's drowning tune.
The 1-Up theme is based on the unused 1-Up Theme from Sonic Adventure
"Escape from the City (Classic)" is a pop mix of the original Escape from the City from Sonic Adventure 2.
"Escape from the City (Modern)" is a rock theme similar to the original song for the Modern version of City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2.

Special Stages

Special Stages will appear in the 3DS version. The style of the play is akin to the Special Stages in Sonic Heroes. A Chaos Emerald will be achieved if the stage is completed. It hasn't been confirmed whether Super Sonic will be playable.[2] It was called "Unlockable Special Stages" during SEGA's press conference regarding the 3DS version of the game. For the console versions, there will be an alternate way of getting the Chaos Emeralds.

Voice Actors
Even though no confirmed official list has been made, Roger Craig Smith said that he's willing to voice Sonic again. His voice as modern Sonic can be heard in demo gameplay footage thus far with a higher voice than in Sonic Free Riders and Sonic Colors. Classic Sonic will remain silent throughout the game, but will still show his personality through his actions and gestures. Cream the Rabbit and Vanilla the Rabbit Japanese voice actress Sayaka Aoki revealed on her blog that she has been recording some voice work for a game that will be released in the future as well (whether or not she was referring to Generations is unknown). She also mentioned Jun'ichi Kanemaru, Sonic's current Japanese voice actor.

Supporting Characters
Images of characters with their Japanese names written in circles (representing icons) were also extracted. The names written are the following:

Miles "Tails" Prower
Knuckles the Echidna
Amy Rose
Cream the Rabbit
Rouge the Bat
Espio the Chameleon
Charmy Bee
Vector the Crocodile
Blaze the Cat

In the list of leaked Hub World missions, it states there will be missions with co-op, and missions where the player will battle, race or perhaps play as these characters. There are also recurring missions called "Sonic Ghost", which is most likely a Time Trial mission.

Additional
Spike Wisp and the Rocket Wisp will be playable in the leaked level, Planet Wisp.

The 3DS one's really disappointing...
Lizuka said: We don't want it to feel like a watered down port of the console versions so we made it 2D to focus on Sonic's handheld history.'
Well it sure sounds like a ultra-watered down version.

Only bad thing is if what was found in the hack is true Werehog Sonic propbably will return, but then again it wouldn't make sense with classic sonic.

The Werehog single handedly wrecked Sonic Unleashed. Sonic Team won't re-use it

Picture of the opening cutscene. Oddly Silver and Shadow are not in it. This my have to do with the fact that they are appearing as bosses.

Are they bosses in all versions? Even if they aren't, Shadow would never attend a birthday party XD

Will there be any multiplayer in this game? Or is it just single player?

All I know is the 360 and PS3 will have them as boss fights according to the hack of the demo for Green Hill Zone. Sega hasn't confirmed this yet, but I'm pretty sure they will.

Do you guys think this game will be disappointing? I used to buy Sonic games several years back, I'm really considering this one, should I buy it?

In the PS3 and 360 hack they also found stuff hint towards Co-op missions.

Okay, I'll buy it then. I'm a big time fan of the 2D adventures. I remember playing Sonic advanced, 2, and 3, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Battle, and many others! I miss those days. :p
That's why I can't wait for this game!

Edit: Here's a trailer of this awesome game.

I quite liked Sonic heroes, i consider it the last really good home console game (until colours came along)
But loads of fans hate Sonic heroes. I never did understand why

I don't know either. It was the last good game for a long time. I think that's why Sega counts it toward the dreamcast era even though it wasn't released on it.

At least it got mainly good reviews. Some of Gamespot's Sonic reviews are dumb, one writer said that after the first game Sonic lost his glory.
He said something like:
'The sequel was practically the same. The third introduced nothing new, except the odd element shield. Level design remained unchanged, and one can't help but wonder why Sega even bothered with the fourth one, Sonic and Knuckles'.
What's he on about? XD
