Sonic Blast makes its debut on the eshop (Sega: £4.50) this week! It will be the second Sonic game to make it to the eshop after Sonic: Triple Trouble that released in March.

Playing as Sonic or Knuckles, it's your job to retrieve the stolen Chaos Emeralds from the evil genius that is Robotnik. You must overcome a maze of traps, devilish robots and intimidating scenery (read jump over spikes, and kill badniks) before taking on the mighty Robotnik.

I think it's a sweet deal. Who plans on purchasing it? There's no details on when the game will be available in the US.

Trust me do not buy this. Get Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the PS2 you'll get this plus all the awesome Genesis and Game Gear Sonic titles, and probably much cheaper. It isn't a good enough game to download by itself.

I'd rather Triple Trouble over this but at these prices I think I'll pass on them for now.

I like Sonic games.:) I already bought Tripple Trouble so I'l definitely look into this one but I haven't played it before so I'l need to look at some gameplay first.

Wish they would release Sonic 2 for Game Gear that is really the only one I would pay to download cause it is pretty fun.(Plus it having an instrumental version of Sonic You Can Do Anything doesn't hurt. :p)

As far as Sonic Game Gear games go Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Chao, and Sonic 2 are the only decent ones.

To be honest, from the gameplay video I watched, this looks very slow paced for a Sonic game :(
almost as slow a Sonic Labyrinth

I still prefer the Original, Sonic CD and Sonic Adventure DX
If any of those appear on the VC (Wii U for SA), that I will be very pleased ^_^

Maybe it could be like a cheap cartridge like Bubble Bobble is (got it for £10 a few months after it was released)

If they wanted to an eShop port would be possible, it's not that big a game.

I can't remember the specifics but I'm pretty sure the eShop doesn't have the same size restrictions.

I wish Sega would just release the classic Sega Genesis games to the eshop besides this stuff. :/

Yeah probably. Also, they are already on the Wii. I wonder if the Wii eshop will transfer over to the WiiU?

I think Nintendo said they are working to bring over the content from the Wii.

Yeah, they'll make a lot more money if they do that. I also hope they add Gamecube games to the sho pas well.

Gamestop will stop buying used GC games soon. :(

Gamecube games on the Wii U's eShop seems pretty unlikely right now because of the storage options for the system.

Oh, well that sucks. Do you think GC games would take up too much space?
Also, when you say storage do you mean like the memory space the harddrive will have?

Yeah GC games would take up a bit, whether they'll be over Nintendo's Wii U shop limits and what those limits will be we don't know yet but based on what we do know I don't see it happening.

Yes I am referring to HDD space or flash memory. It is said to have internal memory but I don't think we know how much that will be. It is going to be compatible with external HDDs so people should be able to store GC games if they were to put them on there but it just doesn't seem like something Nintendo would do if they didn't provide enough space to begin with.
