Due to conflicting info about streetpass, with some sources saying you need the game in the slot for it to work, and others stating the opposite, I emailed Nintendo Customer Services and got this response -

    Dear Chris,
    Thank you for your email.*
You can have multiple games configured to use StreetPass. The benefit is you do not need the game cartridge within the console at the time for this to work – within the 3DS system menu, you can set which of your games can use the SreetPass feature, so this is fully up to you.
Hope this helps. Thank you for your kind attention and continued support.
    Kind regards,

So there you go. Awesome news.

Its good to know though because I would be switching the game every 5 minutes.

I thought this was common knowledge, I wasn't aware of any sources saying you had to have the game in! Such liar. Such filthy, filthy liars.

Ah well, it's good to know it's been reconfirmed for me. The list of games you can have streetpass enabled for is 12, according to NGamer.

Twelve games at a time, or twelve games total?
Is the data saved on the system memory, or the SD card?

i believe its 12 at once
Which is still pretty cool, since all games could be gaining DLC from street-pass
*Square-Enix* please oh please let Kingdom Hearts 3DS be capable of downloading new
    bosses,key-blades or Clothes for characters....PLEASE!!!

I know everyone is probably fed up of FF re-releases, but I could stand to see 6,7,8,9,10 all re released on the 3ds :D

It's been said that you need the game in to see what street pass data has been exchanged not to exchange it, or at least thats how i've interpreted.

Well, that would make sense as you couldnt start the game without the cartridge anyway.

They always have done when Ive emailed. It sometimes takes a couple of days, but considering how many emails they must get, its very good of them.
