I'd first like to say sorry if this is in the wrong topic, but I haven't been on these forums since the 3DS launch. I bought a 3DS on launch and was an ambassador but it was stolen some time in November, along with all my games and some DS games. I never really tried to replace it, until now. If I was to replace it I would have to buy it used, and most likely from ebay or similar sites. Now, I remember all the problems with the 3DS regarding the screen and hinges and so forth, so do you guys think it would be a safe investment to buy used or would it not be worth my money?
On Ebay you can buy the 3DS's quite cheap now. Just make sure the seller has excellent feedback score and ask any questions that your worried about. I can't see a problem with getting a second hand one, there are many good ones still around with no faults. I have just let mine go and it was perfect all round and it was a launch one too. Some online sites like Amazon and GAME sell second hand 3DS's and it should come with a bit of warranty.
I don't think there's too much to worry about. I would say wherever you buy it from, just look at it for yourself (preferably in person) to make sure you're happy with the condition. Personally I try to avoid places like eBay when buying consoles since there are a lot of fakes floating around. Maybe try CeX, Game/Gamestation or Gamestop (don't know where you live)
Personally- I would not buy a used one. No Club Nintendo points and bound to be some scratches. But if you do decide to go second hand, make sure the SD card is included.
Thanks for all the feedback. The reason I'm looking at eBay over GAME is because from what I've seen I can save around £30 and maybe get a game included.
If you want better graphics- 3DS orig. Stretched graphics- 3dsxl. More portable- 3ds orig. Pocket stretcher- 3dsxl.
How can it with stretched graphics? That's impossible. It just comes down to preference. One person may like stretched graphics on a bigger screen, or with no stretched graphics on a smaller screen. Simple. Let's stay on topic.
