    There are so many great game series that exist, it's hard to decide which to use. Besides, Sonic isn't really consistent enough. You can't say Sonic 06 or Unleashed is better than any of the Zelda games from the last 25 years (Excluding. The CD-i games, they don't count).

    I know they were, but so is just about every official LoZ. Zelda is consistently amazing, Sonic isn't always consistent.

    There is a doubt, IMO at least. Don't get me wrong, I love Zelda, but I love Pokemon even more. I've racked up over 300 hours in two of my Pokemon games (345 hours in White and still going strong). To me Soulsilver was disappointing with 70 hours! I'd say Zelda is more influential to gaming overall, but Pokemon is more influential to handheld gaming.

    Although I agree Sonic 06 was one of the worst games ever(They just had to have it out for the PS3 launch which was just made the game begging for failure.) and since then Sonic has been struggling. Sonic is still one of the most recognized gaming icons of all time just the same as Zelda, Mario, and Pickachu. Plus if you played Sonic Colors or Generations(Console version) you'll notice Sonic is really started to get back to his former glory.

    Tough choice. Very tough choice. My favorite genre is platformers, so Mario would be the obvious choice for me, but in the end, my vote goes to Zelda. I love a good adventure game and The Legend of Zelda series delivers on that category every single time.
