What games do you enjoy that others may hate or critics have gave terrible scores to or people just basically don't even know exists? Sonic Unleashed for 360- Many Sonic fans hate this game for introducing the Werehog, but I rather enjoyed it. The around the world theme was really cool to me. And this game introduced a lot of High Speed Moves that would be used in later Sonic Games(Generations and Colors). Although I agree the Werehog stages can be annoying, especially the sections where you balance on spiked platforms and where the camera is annoying forceing you to have to make leaps of faith. Although the Boss Fights for Werehog were great in my opinion, unlike regular Sonic Bosses where it was just the same boss with one extra attack, Werehog's Bosses actually made you think about how to beat them. Although it is not the greatest Sonic game, atleast it was a major improvement from 06. Especially human character's design. 06's human characters were way to life like for a Sonic Game(Dr. Eggman still creeps me out from that game.) this time they went with a less realistic approach and it made such a big difference.
The Chocobo's Dungeon series. The first one was never released in the US, but the second one was released in the US on the PS1. And then there were spinoffs and such, like Chocobo's Racing, which is underrated. They eventually tried to revive the series and made a new Chocobo's Dungeon for the Wii. Not many people seem to know anything about the series. But it's a really good series.
Wario: Master of Disguise! I really fun game in my opinion, no where near as bad as some critics make it out to be. And I might as well say that Wipeout 64 is overrated while I'm here
Under rated: Army of Two games. Precious two-up shooters on the 360 where single system co-op is getting as scarce as manners on xbox live. Over rated: Beyond Good and Evil. Give it a rest people how can it be such a 'hidden gem' when game writers include it on every list ever?
It may not make sense, and it's far from perfect in my opionion, but Bangai O Spirits, which released in 2008 along with the other at the time underated game, TWEWY, didn't get the attention it should have, which is a shame, because it's such zany fun. Bullet hell, that's what it is!
IMO Kirby Air Ride was a bit underrated. It's a great game that had alot of potential. City Trial was one of the best modes and if I wasn't dumb enough to trade in Kirby Air Ride I would still play it. I liked the idea of some of the Air Rides in the game like the Wagon Star having no boost but has good speed and acceleration. Some Air Rides had good idea's but they were too crippled to be any good. Top Ride was a fun minigame mode to play after City Trial. Air Ride was good for basic racing but there wasn't alot of tracks to race on. All the modes were great and had fun gimmicks. A sequel with diffrent City Trial maps, more Air Rides that are balanced, and more tracks would probably be as aswome as a Sequel to Luigi's Mansion.
Cool Story Bro. Kirby Air Ride the 2nd greatest racing game I've ever played. 1st is Mario Kart Double dash which mysteriously disappered one day. Worst thing that has ever happened to me.
I was cleaning up one day and moved all my games into a diffrent spot. The next day I couldn't find it. I remember it was visible in one spot but my sister cleaned up and put it somewhere so now I lost it. This happened a year ago and I have yet to find it.
I was going to make a thread on this, but this is already here... While the critical ratings were pretty good, Final Fantasy XIII is hated by many. While it is linear, it's still a REALLY good game. I wish people would stop whining and saying it symbolises the decline of Square Enix, as it's a fine game if you overlook the linearity. It's fast becoming one of my favourite PS3 games. It is linear, but the battle system is such a joy to use it doesn't matter. The graphics and sound are also some of the best I've seen, rivaling Uncharted in my opinion. EDIT: Actually the sound surpasses Uncharted, it's really fine video game music. Another thing I like about the game is it's emotional attachment to the player. It's easy to empathise with the characters. Sometimes I even pretend to substitute the characters for real people I know.
