Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me out a bit here. I've downloaded some STEAM games on my Mac which I would like to play using my Mad Catz Wired Xbox 360 Controller. I found out how to do it online and followed all the instructions. However, when I go into System Prefs to test it out, it says no device could be found, but the lights on the controller are still flashing. Could someone please help me to get it to work? Cheers Leon PS - Sorry to sound like a snob, but I want a serious answer, not something like get a PC or Nope.
It could be the specific OSX your Macintosh PC is running, perhaps that's why the Xbox 360 driver you downloaded still doesn't help your PC recognize the Xbox controller. Could you give a link to the tutorial you've been following? Hopefully your "MAC" is powerful enough to run the game(s) you want to play (especially at a smooth frame-rate), because, well, I probably don't need to remind you of this, but there's no way that you can alter a Macintosh computer's tech. specs.
I've been using this - http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=636420 If it helps, I am running Mac OSX 10.7.4
Something I was curious about from the beginning was the fact that you have a wired controller that isn't the official Microsoft branded controller. You may have been aware of this but Micrsoft does make official wired controllers. I hope that this isn't the problem, but it would certainly make sense. I know I've been disappointed by a MadCatz brand Gamecube controller before, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the primary issue.
With that logic, iTunes would not work on Microsoft computers as iTunes is Apple It does work, but the driver is outdated and the person in charge doesn't seem to care about it anymore... either that or it's just the third party controller does not work... either way I sent a support email to the guy who developed the driver about three months a go and still no answer
