Hey folks, A brand new interview was recently published between Nintendo Gamer and ZombiU's Producer Guillaume Brunie, focusing on the Development of ZombiU. Some of you may be totally psyched to read that interview, though for those who do not have the time, or those who simply can not be bothered, I've got you covered, as I'll be summarising the main points of the interview. Firstly, they reveal some of the reasoning behind the game changing focus from, originally, Killer Freaks from Outer Space, to the current ZombiU. From this we gather that Ubisoft felt that, after a bit of experimenting, it was better suited for the game to be more based around Survival Horror, especially with the various features the Wii U GamePad has to offer. If you compare videos from Killer Freaks to the Videos of ZombiU, you can see the difference is quite big. KF has more of a Comical Horror aspect which mainly reviles around shooting, whereas ZombiU is definitely more of a Survival Horror. This is directly supported by Ubi explaining about how KF would've taken place in different parts of the world but ZombiU would take place in the UK Something Dead Space fans might be ecstatic to hear is the fact that the writer of Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction, Antony Johnston, has been working with Ubisoft on the Script of ZombiU. I noticed that in another ZombiU Thread, Kiba mentioned that Dead Space had a good atmosphere to really create fear within the player, well it's possible you could see some of that element used in ZombiU. Every game has it's influence... well most of them do. You would be right in saying that there was some influence from the original Resident Evil, but there's also some other games which made an influence on ZombiU like Skyrim... WHAT?!?! They always say 'Practice makes Perfect' and boy do Ubisoft listen to that rule. A fantastic new feature that was revealed in ZombiU is the fact that the longer your character survives, the better they are at surviving. We all know that once you die, there's no coming back... at least, not as the same character. For example, say your a woman that is always using the Pistol and unlocking doors, well the longer you are able to survive, the easier it is to pick door, the faster it is to reload your pistol etc. There is a good reason why I think this feature is so fantastic. Firstly, it makes you care more about your character's wellbeing, instead of just dying, loosing a life and coming back as the same person, dying in ZombiU will make you loose all of your skills so you have to relearn them. This also gets the player to think about trying out a different strategy each time rather than using the same one over and over again. Before I go, I'm going to summarise one more tasty bit of info for you, and boy is it something to sink your teeth into. This is a perfect way to show off the capabilities of the MiiVerse feature of the Wii U. During the game you can create secret messages for other friends to scan with the GamePad, these can be helpful as they could include hints for your friends... although, if I get the choice, I would lead them to a horde of the undead being the evil git I am So, hopefully by now, your minds should be buzzing with all this new info and some of you are probably excited even more (including me). But what is your opinion on these features? What else do you want in ZombiU? Do you think Ubisoft are preparing us for something in the future? Ciao Leon SOURCE - Nintendo Gamer
I'm never adding you to my friend's list. I just hope they have enough survivors for players like me. You know. The ones who are really good at survival horror.
The Practicing Hook? And yeah, I can't believe I forgot about YouBuzz, too bad they don't do the YouBuzz Featured Articles anymore
I don't know if anybody has said it before, but I was reading about Ubisoft and the first game they made back in 1986 was a game named Zombi. Just thought it was cool why it's called ZombiU. I still doubt I get this game, just to many good games at launch. Maybe later on.
Excellent article Leon. Great information- You have me hyped up too seriously looking forward to this! Soon as I get a job, I'm saving for a WiiU, and going to totally add you xD. Great references, grammar and you really know how to portray excitement to the reader. Trés Bien .
