Animal Crossing Finally Leaves Japan… To Go To South Korea
Nintendo puts together a special bundle as their popular life-sim finally steps outside the motherland.
Japanese 3DS gamers have been oh so lucky enough to enjoy Animal Crossing: New Leaf for quite some time. The rest of the world is waiting for a release date for the other territories still waiting to get their collective hands on the game, but it seems another nation is set to enjoy New Leaf before its western debut.
Fans can also expect to see a South Korean release of the 3DS XL Animal Crossing bundle that previously graced Japan. We’re hopeful that the fact that this hardware is seeing the light of day beyond Nintendo’s homeland indicates that this fine specimen of a 3DS XL will also see the light of day in Europe, the Americas and Australasia also.
Those lucky South Koreans will also be seeing the game in a mere matter of weeks! Most 3DS gamers in the West will consider early February as the American release date of the hotly anticipated Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is also seeing a special 3DS bundle. But in South Korea, they’ll be busy building their virtual villages on February 7th. Lucky for some!
It’s been a long time coming, but we’re truly hopeful that release dates for the game for other territories will reach us soon. The fact that Nintendo is now firing up the South Korean hype machine and bringing the game out over there shows that Animal Crossing: New Leaf is finally leaving Japan.
Will the coming weeks herald further localisation announcements? We can only hope! In the meantime, we wonder if the game’s set to see the same popularity as it did in Japan upon its South Korean debut.
