De Blob: The Underground
De Blob was a Wii hit. Now a sequel is coming to the 3DS; and we can hardly wait (Stuart can hardly wait, I’m not too bothered – Adam)
A treat for Wii owners back in 2008, de Blob is a quirky platformer in which players take the role of a globule adding colour to Chroma City. The game, which started life as a student project at Netherland’s Utrecht University, won critical claim and proved a commercial success.

He may be a hero, but there's something rather menacing about de Blob - perhaps it's those eyes?
It’s not surprising, then, that the Blob is back. Though initially intended to be a DS version of the original game, the studio working on the project, were disbanded by owners THQ.
THQ have far more ambitious goals for the sequel howeve. Not only are versions of de Blob: The Underground coming to Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and DS, but a 3DS take has also been confirmed.
What can fans of fun, thought provoking platforming expect for the sequel? The major new addition appears to be the appealingly retro, 2D-styled sections down in the sewers and inside interiors throughout Chroma City. This presents some interesting opportunities to use the 3DS’ 3D display. The simplest thing to do would be to lock the player onto a 2D plane but still render the world using the 3D effects. Another approach – and one that might be more interesting – is to see the world “flatten” during side-on sections to contrast it with the 3D look of other scenes. There will be scores of these sections, so they’re definitely important.

de Blob 2 will feature side-scrolling sections - but will they still use the 3DS' 3D powers?
From the graphics capabilities we’ve seen so far and the storage capacity of the 3DS, this game is also unlikely to need scaling down much from the Wii or even Xbox/PS3 version; strong, bold colours and simple but addictive gameplay make de Blob an ideal candidate for a handheld title. Keep this one on your radar.

should do
i think some probaly all games should be 3d and like they said if it doesnt suit u at the time cause ur moving around alot then yh u have the 2d option which is ace to have options cause i saw tht it was ment to be 800×240 but 400×240 for each eye but when it goes back to 2d will to go back to 800X240 just summit i wondered about cause they made it look like it was on wikipedia but then i dont see why they wouold or else people would want 3d for better resolution its the way they put it tht made me confused XD
