Dress As Pit, Win Big At HMV
I pray to Palutena that we see Hades cosplay.
As reported last week, Nintendo and HMV have partnered up to bring multiplayer events to the UK’s Kid Icarus: Uprising fans. If you missed it, let me summarize: Head on over to any of the selected HMV stores on the appropriate date to battle the “expert” Kid Icarus: Uprising Battle Squad and win prizes! Simple. Nintendo have recently decided to add a bit more excitement to the event with cosplay!
Today, the @KidIcarusUK twitter account posted a rather concise message to get the word out:
Visit #KidIcarus Battle Squad @hmvtweets Reading Oracle this Saturday dressed in Kid Icarus cosplay to win Nintendo goodies!
This is in addition to the twitter competition, in which you’re tasked with getting a photo with the Battle Squad and sending it to @KidIcarusUK with a bunch of hashtags. While some may argue that this is a violation of the Battle Squad’s privacy on Nintendo’s part, it’s all in good fun.
Further digging around finds that Nintendo are getting the word out about this in the weirdest, most ineffective way possible; by editing it into a news story that those who care have already read, though in fairness it has been bumped to the top of the list. In an entirely new paragraph added to the same story linked to last week:
Those who love to get in costume are also in for a treat with brand new prizes for fans who greet the Kid Icarus: Uprising Battle Squad dressed as Pit, Palutena, Medusa or any of the other characters in the game. Everyone who arrives in Kid Icarus: Uprising cosplay will be entered into a prize draw to win Nintendo goodies.
Exciting stuff. If you fancy going head-to-head with the best of the best in either battle or cosplay, get down to the HMV in the Reading Oracle this Saturday between 12-4PM. I’ll be there!

Makes me wish I lived in the UK. I’m already working on making Pawpad Orbitar props for when I eventually get to do some more cosplay. I hope we get to see the results of this (hopefully here at 3DS Buzz!).
I vote Adam (editor Adam, not Adam S) should cosplay as Dark Pit for this. Who’s with me?
I live right next to Reading!
I don’t see why such events come to relatively small places!
Reading is a huge uni town, what’s small about it? :p
At school im ‘Reading’ Mortimer’s bread bin!!
If there was one local to me, I would so go down dressed up as Thanatos.
Aww, man. I don’t like dressing up in public, but this would be an exception. I could dress up as the Great Sacred Treasure!
i look forward to this event is i own so much online 3v3 and FFA ^^ cant wait till this weekend
What a bunch of nerds, please post pictures of these weirdos so I can make fun please.
I think you’re on the wrong kind of website
Please come to Saskatchewan,Canada!!!! PLEASE!!!!
Well, I can’t go to this as I live on another continent, but I still plan on cosplaying as Pit as Manifest later this year.
I wonder if crossplay would count…
If you see Mario and get Squidwar- nevermind i dont like Kid Icarus anyway
You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation however I to find this topic to be actually one thing that I believe I’d by no means understand. It sort of feels too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward on your subsequent post, I will try to get the cling of it!
