Enjoy Some Japanese Madness In These Guild 01 Commercials
Exceedingly Nippon-centric four-in-one game bonanza sees zesty hyperkinetic advertising campaign!
We all love us some Level 5, don’t we? Those charming Professor Layton games, for one thing. They’re one of the most respected Nintendo DS, and by extension 3DS, developers.
One curious title they’ve been beavering away on is Guild 01. This 3DS title is, as you may already know, actually four games on one little slab of plastic delight. Four different Japanese developers have united under the Level 5 banner to craft some 3DS treats.
And the best thing yet? Thanks to Andriasang and their compendium of advertising material, we can see the Japanese commercials for the game in action. Hurrah! Time for lots of fast talking and rampantly rapid imagery!
Yes! Each commercial is an energetic little foray into each game, ended each time by a mildly terrifying man’s face emerging from a vast expanse of milk. Or whatever the heck is supposed to be happening there.
The first game is Suda 51’s Kaiho Shojo, the epic tale of a schoolgirl who can wear a mech suit to turn into a fighter plane. The footage shows just how frantic the action can get, and there’s lots of shouty J-Pop business to go around too.
Second on the scene is Rental Bukiya de Omasse, the blacksmithing extravaganza that sees you supplying weaponry to RPG heroes and such. We can tell they’re RPG heroes because, if you notice, when the little guy picks up the sword, it floats above his hand and spins slowly. That is how you know something is important.
After that comes the luggage-tastic Aero Porter, a gruelling game of wit and dexterity (maybe) in which you must guide baggage into jumbo jets and send them on their way. Hurrah!
Still not enough? How about the frustratingly vaguely shown Crimson Shroud, the fantasy game helmed by Yasumi Matsuno? It seems to have rolling dice in it. Ooh.
Guild 01 has, perhaps unsurprisingly, yet to be announced for a Western release. But isn’t it nice people are using the 3DS to try things a little bit different, hmm?
