Overview

Animal Resort: Let's Build a Zoo is an upcoming zoo simulation game for the Nintendo 3DS published by Marvelous Entertainment/AQ Interactive in Japan. Elsewhere it is known as Zoo Mania 3D, and is to be published by Ubisoft, adding to their army of 3DS games. It is similar in gameplay style to both Zoo Tycoon and Nintendogs. Also in the game you inherit the Zoo from your grandfather building it up along the way.

Gameplay

Most of the game centers around building different zoos and managing those zoos, including all activity inside it. Anybody who has played the Zoo Tycoon series will be familiar with the type of gameplay Animal Resort has. Players will be able to adopt animals and build exhibits for the zoos. Animals as well as humans must be taken care of well, and for that players must hire maintenance me, zookeepers, and entertainers to keep both animals and humans happy. Along with hiring employees, players must also provide food and drink stands as well as bathrooms for the guests, and park benches with trash cans must be situated around the zoo in case patrons get hungry, thirsty, or tired.

In order to make a profit to expand the zoo, players must also set admission fees as well as include food and drink stands in the profits. Later on in the game, players may be able to purchase more extravagant amenities for patrons, such as reptile houses or restaurants. Some of these facilities will be free and will only be an expense to the zoo, while others may have increased admissions compared to their simple counterparts.

Players can also interact with zoo animals and watch zoo animals interact with each other in their habitats. Animal Resort's website says that the game will feature over 100 different species of animals.

Release

Animal Resort: Let's Make A Zoo has received a concrete release date in Japan, being May 19th, 2011. In North America, the game was released some time in June 2011. No release information is known at all about the release of Animal Resort in Europe, but expect a release date around the same time frame as the North American release date.
