Ubisoft announced that the game had been cancelled on the 15th July 2011.

Story

The main character of Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy will be Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the protagonist of previous games Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed II: Discovery. An ancestor of the present-day assassin Desmond Miles, Ezio is an Italian assassin living during the Renaissance. Desmond goes through his memories by viewing them in a machine called the Animus. It allows him to literally become his ancestor in a previous time, through genetic memory. Throughout history, the Assassins have been in a war against the Templars, an evil group bent on taking over the world. In the present day, they take the form of Abstergo Industries, a rich company. Desmond, along with his friend Lucy and a few other Assassin sympathizers, fights with his ancestors against the growing Templar threat.

In Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy, Ezio will be traveling east to the Assassins' city of Masyaf from the original Assassins Creed, where he will try to discover the lost origins of the Assassin Order. The game will feature connections to Altaïr's story from the first Assassin's Creed, as Masyaf is where Altaïr trained as an Assassin, and later became the master of the Assassin Order.
