Overview

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D is a fighting game for the Nintendo 3DS by Ubisoft, in which the player battles, controls and customises dinosaurs. As well as being a fighting game, trading is also a big part of Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D. The player will be able to collect more than 500 items, and trade items with friends. There is also unlockable content. There will be collectable bones, which can unlock 3D skeletons in the in game museum. The player will also be able to unlock four new characters, combat items and 24 dinosaur facts.

Gameplay

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D is a real time fighting game, in which the player can use six different actions. These actions are fencing, blocking evading, hitting, pushing and combo. The game will also feature a new "Ring Out" combat feature, to push the player's opponent out the ring. The combat system means that the player must to learn their opponent's fight patterns to defeat them. The player must defeat all enemies in five different maps with one character in order to reach champion status. Once this has been achieved with four dinosaurs, the player will be able to confront Arkosaurus, in a boss battle. In addition to fighting, the player can explore a Jurassic world, and face three different types of disaster; earthquakes, volcano eruptions and meteor rain.

There will also be another 28 unlockable characters. Each character can be customised. There are 30 colour options and 6 different stripe patterns. There will 2 additional unlockable stripe patterns.

Release

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D was released on April 1, 2011, one week after the launch of the Nintendo 3DS. In Japan it was released on the 26th February 2011, the 27th March in North America and the 31st March 2011 in Europe.

Reception

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D has generally received mixed or negative reviews, with a Metacritic score of 45/100. Several Reviews described the game as "repetitive."
