Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion!

Overview

Officially named Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion this game is a fighter similar to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in which different characters from various shows featured on the channel Cartoon Network. Fights are played out on different stages with interactive backgrounds; basically items from the background can affect the characters fighting. Up to four fighters can play at once, against AI, or with local wireless play or using the Nintendo WFC connection, which the developers have hinted at.

Gameplay

When fighting, cumulative damage is inflicted on each character based on the number and severity of hits received by the opposing player.This number comes in the form of a percentage; the higher the percentage, the more likely the player will get knocked off the stage. The objective of the game probably is to inflict enough damage to "K.O." the player, or knock the other player off the stage. Each character has unique moves along with basic kicks and punches used against rivals. When fighting, occasionally gem-like items will fly out of a character who has had damage inflicted on himself/herself; although the purpose of these gems is unknown, it is possible that it fuels a meter that when full, the player can inflict a "final smash" like move with the gem power.

Plot

Some strange force has pulled all these cartoon worlds together making them to collide with one another, causing "all hell to break loose". The story consists of different Cartoon Network characters traversing through famous Cartoon Network series' landmarks, with special objectives in each level.

Characters from classic Cartoon Network will appear making for a total of characters from 10 shows, and 18 characters. Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion will have 20 battle arenas, 31 levels, and 8 game modes for players to enjoy.

Release

On the 12th April Nintendo of America confirmed in their spring/summer 2011 games line up that Cartoon Network Rumble is to be released in the USA on the 31st May. It was later announced that the game has been delayed until the 21st June. In Europe the game is to be released on the 20th April 2012.
