Overview

In April 2011 Atari announced that work on a 3DS version of the Centipede franchise was in the works by Developer WayForward Technologies. Whilst not a lot of information has yet been given, the game will be called Centipede: Infestation and come with a vast range of stages and game play options.

This game was released on the 1st November 2011 for the US.

Gameplay

Centipede: Infestation features a mix of run'n'gun gameplay for fast action combat and tower defense style play for a strategic edge. Players control Max in single player or can team up with Maisy in 2 Player Co-Op mode.

The game comes with a wide variety of weapons and stages in both single player and co-op mode that will keep players occupied for a while.

No online/spotpass gameplay options have been reported as of yet.

Plot

Information about the games plot is sparse at the current time of writing.

The game centers around Max in a world where infestation has almost wiped out all plant life. Using some special seeds, Max travels around to ward and fight off huge bugs and infestations to allow normal plant life to flourish and set the world back to normal.

Development

Centipede: Infestation is in development by WayForward Technologies, who have worked on a number of DS and 3DS titles including Spongebob Squigglepants and Thor.

Centipede: Infestation is in development for both 3DS and Wii.
