Overview
De Blob 3DS was originally announced shortly after E3 2010, via the big list of 73 upcoming 3DS games. Since then there has been very little news on the game, except for a small part of an interview with Nick Hagger (who at that time was working on de Blob 2 for Wii) by ONM. During the interview, the way Hagger talked about the 3DS version suggested that the announcement of de Blob for 3DS was more a statement of intention to bring the series to 3DS at some point, rather than a concrete announcement:
"I can see de Blob working extremely well with 3D, It's a colour-based game so if you can picture 3D paint splats and cartoon action jumping out at you from the screen, that's a great indication of how de Blob might benefit from 3D."
However, this interview was conducted in June 2010, so there may well have been developments since then.
Gameplay
The de Blob games are broadly platformers, with the exception of the iOS releases. The main aim in the de Blob games is to complete levels by painting enough buildings, to "bring colour to the city". De Blob 2 introduce the concept of going inside the building to attempt a 2D platforming challenge, rather than just staying outside the buildings in a 3D environment. The iOS version of de Blob 2 (de Blob: the underground) introduced a puzzle element by asking the player to plan a route for the blob so that he paints all the walls of a maze inside buildings. It is unknown what gameplay style de Blob 3DS will follow.
History
De Blob was originally released for Wii and iOS in 2008, to positive reviews, although it didn't sell particularly well. A sequel was released for a wider variety of platforms at the start of 2011, including XBox and PS3, as well as Wii, DS and iOS. The 3DS version was originally believed to be a release of de Blob 2 alongside all the other versions, but there has not yet been a concrete announcement of it.

I have seen the gameplay and love the look of it, and I didn,t even know it was on iOS, Xbox or PS3! I thought this was going to be a ‘Nintendo-only’ series.
Maybe there will be a De Blob 3! And have it for the 3ds!!!
