Overview

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles is a hack and slash RPG game for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Omega Force. The game features two different main characters and then around 40 other different and playable characters who possess different weapons and offer different gameplay styles whilst controlling up to 4 players simultaneously in real time with the touchscreen. There will also be customization options, with the ability to change outfits, accessories and weapons. Streetpass will be used to battle against other players. Spotpass will offer extra downloadable scenarios.

Gameplay

In Samurai Warriors: Chronicles the 3DS's top screen will display the main game, while the bottom touch screen will show maps, K.O.s and mission data. The player will be able to switch between characters during battle, wherever they are on the battlefield. The player will be able to make a unique character for himself/herself, and along the way, the player will need to upgrade his/her character to keep up with enemies along with upgrading abilities of characters obtained through the story. The player's character will be able to fight alongside these other characters, who are iconic historic Japanese characters. The top screen's interface has a health gauge, Spirit gauge which shows five circles as the markers, A musou gauge also is included. The game has multiple attacks; one attack is the normal attack, which can be used in a combo relative with the power attack. Musou is a charged attack that has great destructive power. Musou has a few variations including the regular musou atttack, True musou attack which happens when the health gauge is red the true musou attack adds a flame element to the attack. The double musou attack happens when two characters are linked by an electrical charge; this makes the attack more powerful than normal. Then finally we have the Ultimate Musou Attack; this attack is used when the spirit gauge is full and you use a musou attack, this is the strongest attack but leaves the spirit gauge drained completely. You also can use the Spirit charge attack when you make contact in an attack against an enemy once or more. Sometimes you will be locked together in a struggle against an opponent; if this happens press the R and L buttons repeatedly. Every character has a special skill which can be unlocked by pressing the R button; for example, the lead character's special skill is powering up their weapon-based attacks for the male lead. You can also buy horses in the shop feature in story mode. This allows you to ride a horse in the beginning of the battle, and call upon that same horse throughout the battle. On the touch screen you can set plans for characters you are not controlling to, for example, fight a certain target or move to a different area. In this game there are also events where you can build friendship levels with characters, allowing you in the future to use their weapons and play as them in battles.

  2. Gleeok says:

    true….yeah, one of the best titles.

    I’m getting Sims 3 and Pilot Wings also.

    The Sims 3 isn’t the best game ..actually it doesn’t have the best graphics the 3DS can offer but i will get it just because i love sims :P

    i was told pilot wings has an amazing 3D, so sounds like an amazing game to start with.

    @george

    It uses Wi-Fi in order to receive downloadable content (DLC) via SpotPass. It is one of the few 3DS launch titles that have downloadable content.

  6. Misnomer says:

    I have already bought a few 3DS games, but this one is the one that I have enjoyed the most so far. Characters are very fun to play with, some great landscape and the 3D effects are often very cool.
