Overview
Spongebob SquigglePants 3D is the newest game in the Spongebob series to be released for the 3DS. It will be the first Spongebob game to be released for the 3DS. The game will feature "over 100 nanogames", in a style similar to the WarioWare series, and will feature collectible art supplies to draw Spongebob creations using the stylus and touch screen. The game will be narrated and hosted by the show's mascot, Patchy The Pirate.
Gameplay
The main bulk of the gameplay in Spongebob SquigglePants 3D are the nanogames. The nanogames are very short games involving simple tasks, and are packaged together in seven different worlds in groups, so that the player has to perform lots of different tasks in rapid succession. In these nanogames the 3DS's gyroscope, accelerometer, and touch screen will be used as control methods. The player will also be able to make more Spongebob art using the in-game art studio, uDraw, and the touch screen. The created art along with unlocked Nickelodeon art can be saved to an SD card, shared, or printed.
Release
Spongebob Squigglepants 3D was released on the 17th May 2011 in the US, and on the 27th May 2011 in Europe, over 1 month later than its Wii counterpart.
