Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Overview

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is the upcoming video game tie-in to the summer blockbuster Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, the third iteration in the popular Transformers movie series. In the movie series Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes fight with the heroic Autobots, led by transformer Optimus Prime, against the Decepticons, evil transformers that want ultimate power and to eliminate mankind. The game, being a movie tie-in, will probably closely follow the movie and battles.

Gameplay

During battles in the game, the player will be able to switch from vehicle mode, which allows the player to move quickly through maps, but with little firepower, to robot mode, which gives the player more heavy weapons and firepower, but less maneuverability across the map. Stealth Force, a much touted feature of the game, combines these two forms to play to create a sort of hybrid that allows the use of weapons in robots while maintaining the agility of vehicle mode.

Features

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon will feature 18 missions set “in unique environments around the world such as the Jungles of South America, Siberian military facilities, as well as Detroit Cityscapes”. Along with following the main storyline of the movie, the game will also feature an extra prequel campaign along with extra battles.

Release

On the 12th April Nintendo of America confirmed in their spring/summer 2011 games line up that Transformers: Dark of the Moon Stealth Force 3D is to be released in the USA on the 14th June.

The European release of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon has been stated as 24th June 2011. A release in Japan is highly unlikely.
