Get £215 for your 3DS at CEX
Changed your mind and want to get rid of your unopened 3DS? Here’s £215. Already opened it? Fine, here’s £205.
Some people just aren’t that excited about 3DS. Some people have tried it at the Believe Your Eyes sampling tour and decided that glasses-free 3D makes them feel sick, or gives them a headache. Some people have tried their friend’s 3DS and decided that, you know what, this just isn’t for me.
We are not ‘some people’, of course. Far from it. But if we were, we’d be mildly tempted by the offer that CVG spotted currently running at CEX.
If you take your 3DS to this second-hand games, films and gadget retailer, you can walk away a whopping £215 richer. Although, that’s only if your 3DS hasn’t been opened.

If you have already freed the multi-talented handheld from its cellophane-sealed cardboard prison, you can still trade it in to the eager chaps at CEX and leave the store with a semi-whopping £205 in your pocket. Which isn’t terribly shabby.
However, we should probably warn you that if you’re going to CEX with the intention of buying a brand new 3DS, it will set you back a most-definitely-whopping £280. We’re not quite sure why it’s that much, given that almost everyone is selling it for £200 or less, but Nintendo has always said it lets retailers set the price.
There are alternative trade-in offers, of course. HMV is promising to give gamers £200 for their 3DS if you trade it in before April 7th. Meanwhile, anyone that bought their handheld at GAME can get £190 in store credit or £180 in cash if they return the device by April 25th. Isn’t the competitive marketplace great?
There’s no word on how much you’ll get for the 3DS games when you trade in the device, but experienced game-traders will tell you that it probably won’t be very much.
And just remember that if you do take any of these stores up on their offers, we 3DS-owning people will judge you. Harshly. Well, some of us will. Well, I will. Maybe.

Well errmmm the 3DS at the moment isnt that great if ur one of those people who didnt buy a game with it like me….
First! Anyway, why lose money? Besides I would never trade my 3DS.
I have 2 games with it. Sure it cost £279.99. It was worth it. I got tom clancy ghost recon shadow wars and pes 2011. TCGR is cool, good 3d. PES has brilliant 3d visuals.
good luck m8
I can say that i wasn’t expecting the 3ds to be this good, when i was queing up for a demo, I iz impressed.
Hey bro’s here’s my friendcode: 0130-1785-8135. If you add me tell me your friendcode too. And the nickname you want to have.
I wouldn’t sell my 3DS; especially as, ignoring 2 games and insurance, it didn’t cost me anything (Midnight raffle ftw). The only time the 3D has been a bother was when I was tired and playing it at 1am (fair enough tbh). Even my older brother, who has permanent double vision is enthusiastic about it, and is constantly testing his eyes with it.
cool, ill tell you mine tomorrow when I get it, hopefully
I would never send my 3ds back, it’s awsome!!! But I think it’s a great idea! If you don’t like ur 3ds send it back 4 a gd price, especially when u can buy it really cheap at amazon, still, im not sending it back ever!!!!! Unless a new 3ds coms out
@Nintendofan
i have added u as a frnd on my 3ds… here is my frnd code..
Aashish 0473-7763-9779
add me as a frnd..
Dont do it its a trap@Tutan
So you can buy a 3DS at Amazon for 187 and sell it for 215? WTF
@Tutan
Well, it is fantastic as long as you take your AR cards with you and don’t have your arm in a sling like me at the mo haha But yeah, not having a game gets kind of annoying.
My nickname is simply Thomas and the friendcode is for 3ds.
i love my 3DS but its not as inpressive as i excpected
@Nintendofan
my friend code is 0130 1789 8059 and could u call me Donutguy ill u add u as nintendofan
You’re not alone. I shall judge any 3DS-sellers most harshly. Unless they’re buying them in bulk from amazon first. As “right” said, WTF.
are they making LoZ Majora’s Mask for the 3Ds
@Tutan
lol, im getting a game soon, but i need to pay off my debts and stuff. for now, ill stick to the AR games, streetpass, and gamefly
I would never sell mine!
Have been having a lot of fun with it, although I’d say I’ve only played it an hour in total lol
I had Super Street Fighter ordered off Amazon because it was cheaper than at GAME
My step-dad offered to take me to the midnight launch, and ended up buying insurance and Asphalt for me! He’s been playing away at it, he bought it after all lol
CEX generally do charge over the odds for new releases. They give better trade in prices than most places, which might explain the extra £60 plus you can trade a wider variety of stuff. Im glad I got a 3ds allthough Im allready bored of my games and back playing Okamiden. Bring on zelda/paper mario
Here in Australia it is like days until it comes out and it costs $350 for a 3DS and like $65 for a game!!!!!!!!
Is anyone else trying to see their monitor in 3D?
I expect the comments to be popping out, too much face raiders and not enough sleep.
Buy 3DS for 180 quid then sell. 25 quid profit XD
Rinse and repeat until you’ve got lots of money.
*35 quid
This doesn’t make sense. What are they up to?
EPIC FAIL!!!!!! XP
How can you contact 3DS Buzz because I found something Intresting.
what the 3ds needs is some fps, imagine playing call of duty in 3d plus touch screen for aiming and analog, that’ll be the crazys S#%$ .
Haha, they just want to steal your 3DS and sell it for more to some other saps who don’t have it. lol
I did some research on this – CEX (pronounced SEX when i called them) were doing this deal on launch day, but quickly changed the buy prices.
It is now £180 for an un-opened boxand £170 for an opened one. If you can find one for less than £180, it’s still possible to make a profit, but hardly worth the effort now.
Hold on, they buy them sfor more than a new one on Amazon?
I smell easy money here
