Gunman Clive Saddles Up For The eShop
Wild West rootin’-tootin’-shootin’ action riding into town on December 20th for Europe, January 2013 for America.
That’s an American greeting. Now you can say you have used your computer for cultural purposes. Unless you’re reading from America, at which point you are probably raising an incredulous eyebrow and murmuring something about false stereotyping.
Nonetheless, it seems the eShop is due another smartphone game making the leap to the verdant and lush fields of Nintendo. The game doing said jumping this time is Gunman Clive, according to Nintendo Life. It also comes with a remarkably self-parodying trailer that simply must be seen.
Yeehaw! And so on.
The game itself has a pretty nifty aesthetic, and features the sort of run-and-gun gameplay and platforming that has fans of MegaMan foaming at the mouth. Better still, the game is looking to hit the European eShop on December 20th for a paltry €2, meaning even the most drained of post-Christmas-shopping wallets will be able to scratch together enough currency for some cowboy shenanigans.
Gunman Clive has already caused quite a stir on iOS and Android. You know, those splendidly accessible digital distribution services that apparently are causing the end of console gaming. Except, once again, it seems they’re not, because Gunman Clive is just one of a growing number of titles spreading its reach from mobile platforms to dedicated games machines, almost as if the two disparate entities can actually coexist. But don’t tell the analysts that!
Unfortunately, a release date for America (you know, the place where cowboys and stuff actually happened) is yet to be confirmed, though current estimations are around January 2013.
Are you a fan of Clive’s, pleased to see his 3DS debut? Do you recommend his hijinks to 3DS fans yet to sample his shooting action and ‘lots of brown’? Or are you new to Gunman Clive entirely, but pleased at a new budget game to keep your interest?
