Intelligent Systems To Release Its First eShop Title
And it’s a Japanese exclusive… at least for now.
Intelligent Systems, a long-time internal team at Nintendo, and the developers behind such well-known hits as the Fire Emblem and Paper Mario series’, is gearing up to release it’s very first Nintendo eShop title in Japan. The game, which is published by Nintendo, is called “Hiku-osu”, and it can best be described as a “block-puzzle game”.
You play through the game as the main protagonist Maro, whose town has been covered with a mysterious block-like toy known as Hiku-osu; as Maro, you’ll need to push and pull (or “Hiku” and “Osu” in Japanese) the blocks to create a clear path to your goal. Hiku-osu is packed to the brim with over 250 stages to solve, some even featuring art and themes from classic Nintendo franchises; and as if that weren’t enough, you can also create your own stages with the built-in creation mode.
You can check out the official site for the game here, and a trailer of the game in action by clicking here.
Hiku-osu drops in Japan on October 5th, for the modest sum of ¥700; while there are currently no plans for a release outside of Japan, and I wouldn’t necessarily hold my breath for one, we can always hope that Nintendo will throw us a bone and release it in other regions as well. Do you want to play Hiku-osu?

ill pass not because it looks terrible, but because $7 could go into something better.
wazzup ma bezzer
I saw the whole trailer. I have to admit, this game looks like a piece of shit. This is another piece of shovel-ware. They should just throw it in the eShop, because that is what all this game is worth. Come on Intelligent Systems. You’ve made better games than this. This game is disappointing. It’s more disappointing than Nintendo Dogs and Nintendo Cats.
@ 3dsdevil
why do keep doing that
@Premier Did you watch the whole trailer? The beginning makes it look like a piece of shit, but that’s just a demo of the game’s block system: the second half kicks ass. I agree that $7 may be a bit pricey (depending on how many levels and modes), but since it includes a level-creator (and probably some download functionality) and some kick-ass puzzles (again, watch the second half of the trailer), I definitely wouldn’t call this a piece of shit.
Looks way too shitty and way too Japanese to get released here… Intelligent Systems really need to go back to what they are good at, making RPGs… Seriously, I hate this game now because it most likely made Paper Mario 3DS and Fire Emblem 3DS come out later, and for what? A crappy puzzle game no one will buy…
We dont want this bloody rubbish from respected companies close to Nintendo. So stop messing around and just release a new fucking Advance Wars!
R4 Master, huh?
Doesn’t look bad, but I don’t think I’d pay ¥700 for it.
I didn’t realised so many people had played this game already…
Meh, Don’t care. I just want a new Advance Wars game! D:
Advance Wars is cool … The only thing missing is a “friendly fire” mode so all the yanks can feel at home. XD
Looks like a rival for Tetris Axis.
Advance Wars !..! Rock On
