Kojima tweets Metal Gear Solid 3DS Photos

As in he’s been using Twitter, not that he’s fluent in birdsong.

If you’re looking forward to the 3D remake of Snake Eater, I bet I know why. It’s not the 3D display or sharpened graphics, is it? Nor is it the chance to relive your Snake Eating memories, or to try it for the first time if you missed it originally. You’re among friends here, you can admit it; you’re most excited about customising Snake’s trousers, aren’t you?

If that’s the case then boy, do I have some exciting news for you! As first spotted by andriasang, Hideo Kojima has been sharing some pictures he’s taken of Snake Eater 3D’s photo camouflage system in action via his Twitter account. The first picture is Snake ‘disguised’ in Bic Camera bag camo, and the second shows him in, er, Tower Records camo. The following two pictures provide a glimpse at the touchscreen controls, the first of which seems to show that several photo camo designs can be saved at once.

    Um, no. Not it.

So, do those custom camos actually do anything gameplay-wise, or are they just fluff, I wonder?

In any case, I’m not sure what to feel about this game. I was a bit excited about it, back when the naked sample trailer went public, but the eShop trailer doesn’t look too great.

The main problem with the eShop trailer is the video is horrendously compressed. The game itself is gonna look amazing when it comes out, the fact it’s going to look better than the ps2 version and the “HD” port of it on the ps3.

@Pseudonymous i believe it does affect gameplay. Notice the camoflauge meter in the top right-hand corner of photos 3,2 and 1.

    wow cant wait

  6. 3Dbrains says:

i would guess hel have us take a blueish photo, a reddish photo, greenish photo etc and a new mechanic where you have to match your colour cammo to the background instead of a standard seethrough cammo?

  8. Adam says:

jumps outta box “shoooooow time!!!!” , any hoo they should release an ltd snake 3ds , camo colours with that cool kojima logo below one of the speakers, (top screen would obviously be black) along with some outlines of snake or the badge on the front cover…

  9. Binary says:

Obviosuly it has a bearing on gameplay. They work like the pre-set camos. Basically there are set figures which = better camos for certain environments. same idea here. But won’t people be able to get the ideal camo for each environment and be basically invisible lol?

  10. Binary says:

    like an if statement.

  11. Jackie says:

Can I ask, is the person on the “click on” picture next to Snake supposed to be a man or a woman?
