Metroid 3DS Rumour Quashed
Sorry to break the news to you, but Jonathan Ross denies he was talking about Metroid 3DS in his recent tweet.
Many gaming websites reported on Jonathan Ross’s recent Twitter comment which seemed to hint that a new instalment of Metroid was heading to 3DS. When tweeting about hosting the Nintendo 3DS preview event this Wednesday user, darrenkerwin said:

The most family friendly picture of Samus I could find with Google.
I don’t expect you to spill anything, it’s nice to have a surprise. I have my fingers crossed for Metroid..
To which Ross replied;
I think you’re going to be pleased then…
While realising he may not have been referring to Metroid, that didn’t stop fans from speculating that a 3D instalment of Metroid was soon to be announced.
I’m sorry to be a killjoy but I asked him to clarify if he was referring to being pleased about the event in general or about Metroid. 3DS Buzz said,
You started a lot of 3DS rumours! You meant darrenkerwin will be pleased about general surprises not about a Metroid 3DS didn’t you?
Then Ross shattered Samus Aran fans’ dreams with,
yes. Why? Did he think I meant new Meteoid?
Who knows? Maybe there will be a Metroid 3DS game, but it’s not what Ross was referring to in his tweet. Or maybe he was just covering up the leak, but that’s more than likely just wishful thinking.

Thanks guys, fingers still crosssed for metroid, smash bros, and decent battery life later in the week.
Damn you Ross!
what? no!
Oh no.Well let's wait until jan 19 then.:(
this sux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(
..i like that picture…hell yeah its friendly man
It was obvious to me at least that he wasn't referring to Metroid. He probably doesn't even know what Metroid is AND I wouldn't be surprised if the “unexpected revivals” he tweeted are just what's been shown i,e. Kid Icarus, Zelda, Starfox and GB/GBC games etc.
Just realised, Ross misspelt 'metroid' in the reply tweet. Simple mistake, or carefull cover up, you decide…
I live in the u.s., but by what I’ve seen of him so far, he seems like that child in everybody’s family who just cannot keep his mouth shut. Which is good for us!
Perhaps its a purposeful typo
But in all seriousness, probably not
Lol all the other pictures of Samus are kind of slutty.XD

Rumor is true, while in a way look at this link to see: http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=147803
…That sucks. I won't buy or pre-order the 3ds until I see a new Metroid!
There will be a Metroid 3DS game somewhere down the line I’m sure, it’s not that unlikely
If there is a Metroid game for 3DS down the line, I’m half expecting a 2.5D side-scroller or something similar to Metroid Other M. Either way a solid Metroid title for 3DS is very possible and demanded.
I,myself, have a good idea for a metroid game I call it¨Metroid:Planet fuse.¨At least I think its a good idea. The story is in my next comment.
Here is the story for my good idea for a metroid video game called¨Metroid:Planet fuse.¨Here we go.Samus is cruising around space weeks after the BOTTLE SHIP is destroyed. She recieves a message from the galactic federation saying that the BOTTLE SHIP was’nt entirely destroyed and that all sectors from the enormous ship including sector zero(meaning Adam is’nt dead…yet)flew to a planet named Fuse, mysteriously enlarging and suddenly fusing with the planet, creating the size of planet Zebes and the BOTTLE SHIP.Unfortunetly, she then recieves a distress call…from federation soldiers on planet Fuse, saying that pure nightmares are taking place on the planet because all her rivals, including bounty hunters, who may have died, revived from being dead and flew to the planet………..
The console really could use a Metroid game. I don’t have the console yet but I’ll be buying one soon, just to play that Zelda again.
Too bad that Gamecube’s Metroid Prime-games would be way too heavy for this console and also that N64 didn’t have a Metroid game to easily convert to 3DS.
I am writing this on my 3DS browser, I think a 3D Metroid Prime remake with the controls of Hunters would be awesome, Hunters story mode sucked, but the controls were great for precision.
NO! Metroid Prime Hunters’ controls were awful! Holding the entire console with one hand for long periods of time was fine. I could deal with that. But having to use the L button and the dpad at the same time was terrible, and to top it all off, you have to push down on the touch pad with the stylus at the same time. It felt so unnatural and off balance.
Gamecube Metroid Prime controls would have transferred perfectly to DS/3DS. Up and down would be for moving forward and back, left and right for turning, hold R to stay in place and aim around, hold L to strafe, or when appropriate, lock and circle strafe, A for shoot, B for jump, X or Y for Missiles, X or Y for morph ball, touch screen to change visor and change beam weapon.
This entire process would be even more streamlined on the 3ds. Hunters design was terrible.
