Playable 3DS at Gamescom 2010?
With Gamescom less than a month away, rumours are starting that the 3DS will be playable there. Nintendo have said they want to gather as much feedback as possible before its release and what better place than Europe’s answer to E3.
It’s Europe’s answer to E3 and, with Nintendo wanting to gather as much feedback as possible on the 3DS before its release, it seems likely that the rumour that the 3DS will be playable at Gamescom could be true. Gamescom takes place a month before the Tokyo Games Show and would seem to present a perfect opportunity for Nintendo to present their latest console in all three major markets; North America, Europe and Japan.
According to N4G at a post-E3 press event in Frankfurt, Nintendo stated that they want to “provide the opportunity to try out the Nintendo 3DS to as many people as possible, since that is the only way someone can experience the system as it is”. Presumably, they have another public viewing planned post-E3 and what better place to do it than at Gamescom.
Gamescom will run from August 18-22, boasts over 120,000 square metres of exhibition space and is expecting over 245,000 visitors. It is open to the public and a day ticket will cost between 10-15 euros depending on which day you go. As 3D and Motion Control look like they’re going to be the focus of this years event, it would seem natural that Nintendo would want to show off the 3DS.
Nintendo are confirmed to be attending this year’s event though there are no details yet on what they will be showing and, when contacted, they are remaining tight-lipped, which is surely a good sign. We’ll be sure to keep you posted and, of course, will bring you the latest news from the event. For more information about Gamescom check out the official site.

If I miraculously make it to Cologne, though, I'll be sure to bring back my impressions of the 3DS! Don't count on it, though; my parents' tickets are non-refundable…</font>
Is Gamescom like a British version of E3? If so, you missed out! Unfortunately, so did I….
