Project X Zone Official Media Begins To Flow
Not only that, but that character roster we recently gleaned isn’t even final. Who else is coming out to play in this epic 3DS franchise mash-up?
Gasps and clutches at the forehead of disbelief were rife across the globe yesterday when the lid was finally lifted on the engimatic Project X Zone. The 3DS game, reportedly currently halfway complete, sees Namco-Bandai, Capcom and Sega pitting their finest franchises together. For what purpose? Strategy RPG battling goodness, of course!

"OBJECTION!"
Andriasang have got the goods as always. Project X Zone, with the ‘X’ pronounced as ‘cross’, started as a Namco-Bandai idea shared with Capcom. Sega was later brought into the fold as discussions progressed and the ideas for a franchise-blending dose of 3DS brilliance grew.
The bizarre name of the game was chosen as a mix of presenting the idea of a dream crossover game, and the practicality of the fact that putting each company’s name in the title would make it jolly long.

Good to see you Megsy! We CAN call you Megsy, right?
Characters naturally retain the movesets from the games that spawned them, of course. Street Fighter‘s Ryu and Ken will have their iconic fighting moves and more pacifistic characters such as Ulala will use things like her Tension Blaster.
What’s most tantalising of all is that the character list as currently revealed is by no means final. So if there are characters from these companies you want to see bringing the sprite-based battling noise, it might not be too late. Your humble writer is hoping Sega have the good sense to throw in the team of Vyse and Aika from Skies Of Arcadia.

"Fear the might of my GINORMO-HANDS! I could crush a pensioner between two gargantuan fingers!"
Combat details outside of the initial knowledge that characters fight in teams are still thin on the ground. It’s expected that these details will be fleshed out soon, so stay tuned!
Until then though, be sure to take a look for yourself at Famitsu’s deliciously comprehensive screenshot collection. Looking good!

All of the characters revealed so far seem at least mostly human, but I can still hope to see sonic in it, right? That would be so cool!
I don’t see why not, considering Sega is involved.
