Resident Evil: Revelations confirmed for 2012
Facebook post with concept art reveals the first true Resident Evil title for 3DS won’t be released until next year.
Looking forward to delving into another grisly adventure against zombies, mutants, horrific voice acting and other monsters? Well, don’t hold your breath because Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations for 3DS won’t be released until 2012 at the earliest.
The latest hint of a release date recently surfaced on the franchise’s official Facebook page where a Capcom employee posted up five moody pieces of concept art, with the tagline “from Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS, 2012)”.
The artwork suggests that the finished Revelations will have a nice range of environments for players to timidly creed through, including an abandoned coastal shanty time, the wreckage of a cargo plane that has crashed in the mountains and what look like the ruined kitchens and corridors of a shiprwreck – complete with the bloody remains of the crew. Lovely.
Revelations is one of the most anticipated 3DS titles, but in the meantime fans will have to make with equally popular Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. The fully-fledged video game based on the RE4 and 5 bonus modes will be released for 3DS in June across Japan, the US and Europe.
Earlier this week, Capcom confirmed that The Mercenaries would include a demo of Revelations. So that should keep you going for a bit.
