Super Mario 3D Land: New Gameplay Videos
A host of gameplay vids to get your mouth watering for the main course.
It’s easy to forget that there’s a new Mario platformer coming this November, considering how the month is jam-packed with Triple-A titles across every known console. But perhaps these new short videos will help remind you.
The first one is a brief story setup, including what will no doubt be considered an “official” explanation for the origins of the Tanooki Suit; After a mysterious wind blows away all the feathers from the Tanooki tree, Mario and friends are shocked (no, really) to find out that Bowser is behind this, and has abducted Princess Peach to boot.
The rest of the videos show off several gameplay elements, including a tutorial on how to jump on enemies’ heads to defeat them. You laugh now, but there was a time when we all had to learn the basics. We also get a glimpse of Tanooki Awesomeness, as the classic suit has been given a stronger tail attack in addition to a powered-up mode that makes Mario invincible.

I hope I’ll be able to get this on day one at my local Wal-Mart…..I’ll be getting up at 7:30 AM to walk (or ride my bike if there isn’t any snow yet) over there and run in when it opens at 8:00. I pre-ordered the Skyward Sword Bundle at an EB Games……I just hope I won’t regret not pre-ordering this.

Yeah, I think I’ll do that…..my one uncle lives in Windsor and since I’ll be seeing him tomorrow, I’ll just ask him to Pre-order Super Mario 3D Land for me at the EB Games as well. But, is the keychain for everywhere?

…..as for Mario Kart 7, I’m getting that for Christmas, my money could only cover the Skyward Sword Bundle and 3D Land. But hey, it’s not like I’ll go insane waiting for it with those other two awesome games there to keep me occupied

These videos are just pure gold. (Not literally, some of the best videos this year!) The tree has a tail so that’s where the Tanooki Leafs come from. I wonder if these will be introduced in Paper Mario. The ability of the Tanooki Leaf in Mario Kart 7 will be astounding. So Bowser is up to him mischief once again. He never learns.
This game’s ending will be lovely. Peach and Mario will come back together. Will those two ever marry each other!? Cute little white bird in the movement video. Will there be a price by catching it? The coins have came alive in the movement video, lol. What do those long blocks do? There must be something in them. The powerups are awesome. Well Tanooki Mario can fly which is similar to Cloud Mario from Super Mario Galaxy 2. I doubt there’ll be another Super Mario Galaxy. Do those dangerous Fire breathing Piranha Plant have a name. E.g. Fire Plant, Inferno Plant.
This is new. Invincible Tanooki Mario? Flying Mario is there too. That would be great to find if you just want to reach the finish line and get further through. Those Starcoins seem difficult to find but anyone can figure it out eventually. I can’t believe how close this is now. 47 days 8 hours and 50 minutes remaining for the UK. 44 days and ditto for the US.
Will this sort of game ever get online play? One person could be Mario, another Luigi, and the other two Toads so online play would have up to 3 other players from your friend list. The characters of the players will be chosen at random. It would be great because then there could be like secret areas which you could access and beat your friends to the finish line. Looks like 8 worlds again.
I want there to be more worlds or maybe like the idea from Super Mario Galaxy to Super Mario Galaxy 2. That idea is adding more worlds and green stars for Super Mario Galaxy 2. In this game you could have green finish lines, secret areas in worlds you passed which can only be accessable once you finish the game.
It would be cool if there was a shop like they did in Super Princess Peach a while ago if you remember. You could buy powerups and buy tutorials of the world. The tutorials could be accessed as soon as the player has had a go at the world. Later there will be tutorials for green finish lines too. You could also buy music of everything in the game to always listen to.
The graphics of the game are amazing and the 3D just improves on it. Overall, an amazing game. I would rate it 95% because the storyline is always exciting. The levels are detailed with bright colours. The only real letdown is that there could be online play.
Sorry, if I posted to much. This will always be a memorable game by me. I hope everyone will enjoy this game.

Well, for me there’s Kirby Mass Attack, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland (coming out on the 24th, my Brother’s gonna buy it after his Birthday), possibly the GBA Ambassador titles if they are released on October 27th (Club Nintendo page mentions post-play surveys for eligible Ambassador Games involving that date) and the already existing Four Sword Anniversary Edition……so I’m somewhat set, are you sure you don’t have any of these to ease the waiting on your end?
@Mariomaster1 i won’t get any kirby but i might be able to sooth my wait with cave story 3d, sm3dl and syward sword so i gusse i’m set too but man your lucky you getting both of those kirby games while i only get the 3ds games XD oωo
