Time Travelers Trailers Are Teasingly Tremendous

But enough of our alliteration — take a look for yourself! Who doesn’t love mysterious Japanese videogame ads?

There’s been a bit of a time travel theme going on recently when it comes to 3DS news. But one game that takes the wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey ball and runs with it is undoubtedly Level 5’s Time Travelers.

Andriasang have got their hands on a couple of Japanese commercials for the game. The first is being called ‘Change The Past’, and shows off some pretty nice graphical dramatics from ingame footage.

Ah, how we long to immerse ourselves in this storyline! Why oh why can’t a global release be confirmed?

Though short and sweet, the video highlights the strong character interaction that’s the core of Time Travelers. There’s no temporal hijinks shown though, bar a teasingly ticking wrist-watch, so how the time-altering mechanic feeds into the game itself is as mysterious as ever.

The second commercial is a very different one. With only a scant few split-seconds of game footage, the video itself instead presents Time Travelers as an emotional rollercoaster of thrills, spills and leaky eyeballs.

Is she crying because of the dramatic scenes on show? Or did her 3DS battery die in the middle of a big plot revelation and cause her to weep with frustration?

Probably the former. But it’s a bold claim indeed by Level 5, who seem determined to press home the fact that this storyline will make you weep openly. Or so they say. Maybe they ought to, hint hint, bring it out over here so we can see for ourselves!

Andriasang’s report suggests that the second commercial, known as ‘Theatre’, has the weepy doe-eyed gamer girl profess that “The small screen becomes a theatre”. In other words, no, really, Level 5 want us to know this game is very dramatic.

Time Travelers has been confirmed by Andriasang to have scored big with Japanese gaming publication Famitsu, netting itself a quadruple-set of 9s. This means it’s probably remarkably good, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it!
